This and that

So maybe I shouldn't wait for something big to happen so I have something to write about, to keep up this blog...otherwise I'll never write on this thing! Haha So here's the blog about a little bit of this and a little bit of that.

My friend, Jess, visited from Texas last weekend (which actually was very big and exciting!!) and we were able to properly catch up after not seeing each other for 2 years (!!). She spent the night (as she put it, our first sleepover since being friends, haha) and we went to the beach, walked in the Wilcox property, took tons of pictures and TALKED and laughed for hours. So fun and so over due! The visit was definitely over way too soon, and I'm so thankful she had the time to make the drive up to SB to see me. Maybe one of these days, we'll live closer than a few states away.

I've decided to start keeping a creative journal, which is more along the lines of scrapbooking/collage with the incorporation of writing, so we'll see if I can actually keep it up. I really like the idea and concept and for some reason (as we can see from how long it's been since I've updated this blog) keeping to a writing routine has been difficult for me, which is odd since I have a degree in creative writing. Maybe I've just gotten burnt out? Or maybe I'm just going through a dry spell? So I'm hoping this little project will ignite the creative spark again.

Things with work (both Jason's and mine) are stressful...he got a pink slip again this year and we're not sure how that will all play out so it's a wee bit of a stressful situation. And my job is getting to be quite the handful. Given the economic situation in this country, I'm definitely thankful and grateful for my job but I am feeling the stress while trying to recover. So, we take it one day at a time and hope for the best.

And last but certainly not least, my best friend Stephanie is coming to CA on May 2nd and will be staying with us from May 3-May 6 and then my other best friend, Faeron, Steph and I are taking a mini road trip to San Francisco for the weekend! Why, you may ask? Because Steph is going to Ghanna for 2 years with the Peace Corps in June and, well, that's more than enough of a reason right there! Should be a weekend to remember!

So there you go. Now I'll just have to try and do this more often!
