Earth Day

I had a wonderful program today at work in honor of Earth Day.  It was an intergenerational program with a fifth grade class from the Christian School next door to us.  The kids came over, visited with my skilled nursing and dementia care residents and then we watched The Lorax by Dr. Seuss.  When the film was over, we talked about what an ecosystem is, why Earth Day is important and what we can do in our city, neighborhood, homes to promote a healthier Earth. Despite the fact that I felt like I was going to pass out the whole time since I'm sick, it was a lot of fun and I think the kids and seniors both got a lot out of visiting with each other.  I love hosting these types of programs and really enjoyed putting it all together.

I hope you're having a wonderful Earth Day and finding ways around your home to GO GREEN! :)
