It's all set! Jason and I are heading to Arizona (by plane this time, no 8 hour drive on the I-10 for us!) for a 6 day/5 night stay at the Firesky Resort and Spa in Scottsdale, AZ! We'll be gone the week of June 15th, so about a week after Jason's last day of school for the year - he'll have a week or so to recuperate from teaching and then we'll be off! We're renting a car while we're there so we'll be able to drive to and from the hotel at our leisure to take some day trips. We want to see Sedona, the Grand Canyon, Tuscon and Phoenix. Hopefully since we're going in June instead of July or August, we'll miss a lot of the intense heat. Dry heat is so much more tolerable than humidity so we'll be fine. After spending 4 years in Redlands, we can handle it.
Jason and I watch this show on Food Network called Diners, Drive-In's and Dives and there have been a few shows that feature Arizona restaurants so we'll probably try and take in a few that are closest to where we're staying. I also saw on the resort website that there is a bike rental nearby so we might try some of the biking trails. Neither of us has been on a bike in years so that will be interesting... The hotel also has two beautiful outdoor pools so we'll of course be spending some time lying out in the sun. If you want to see where we'll be staying, the resort website is: www.fireskyresort.com
Even though we've been together 10 years this year, we haven't had the opportunity to take many long vacations together, since the first few years of dating we were just too young to take trips all by ourselves. This trip will be the 3rd actual vacation we've taken where it'll just be the two of us, for the sole purpose of being together. Of course we've gone places over the years for long periods of time for family get-togethers, holidays, Jason's school trips or for Steph's wedding last year in Hawaii all of which were labeled "vacations", but those trips were planned with the knowledge we'd be doing things with others or for others, and most of the time we were with other people. The first time we were gone for a week with just the two of us was the summer between freshman and sophomore year of college when we went to Lake Tahoe. The second was our honeymoon cruise to Alaska. So we're very excited to be taking this trip in June. This will be our time to celebrate our 3-year wedding anniversary as well as our decade of being together. :)

Oh wow Matt and I love "Triple D" too! We've gone to all the places he likes in San Diego. I miss you sameface! You have to come visit sometime and see our big new apartment which will soon(hopefully) have a fully functioning guest room/office.
