Ready, set, job search!

Today marks the official beginning of my job search here in Redlands. I am hopeful and optimistic but realistic as well about the state of the employment situation in this country - I need to find a job relatively soon so my goal (keeping in mind the current job market) is to find a job by the end of the year. I know family and friends who have been looking for that long already, some even longer, who have yet to be hired so as I said, hopeful but also apprehensive about what's really out there and available. Because Jason begins school Sept. 7 and has a pretty busy schedule he will only be able to donate a small fraction of his time to working, so we are going to be pretty reliant on my income. At the same time, I am pretty sure I do not want a job that comes with a great deal of responsibility, as I am still recovering and want to give my body adequate time to heal and not push myself too much or too hard. In short, I just want a job that pays for our necessities and every day living expenses. I am not looking to prove myself in any way, or a job that is comparable to my last work experience as a supervisor - I know I have a degree and it will be difficult to accept a salary/wage cut, but in the end, I just want to be employed and paying for what we need to pay for and a job that comes with medical insurance...because I NEED medical insurance. So, wish me luck and let's hope I can accomplish my goal!
