The World I Know

There are a few songs that I really feel like I connect with and this is one of them. I have a special spot in a local park that really reminds me of this song. I used to walk through this park and look down upon the ocean each day during my recovery and it just has a special place in my heart. The other day, Jason took a picture of me in this spot that I feel reflects and echoes this particular song quite well (photo posted below). It's especially meaningful and poignant right now for me since we are getting ready to move, and I'll be moving away from...are you ready for it?...the world I know.

The World I Know by Collective Soul

Has our conscience shown?
Has the sweet breeze blown?
Has all the kindness gone?
Hope still lingers on.

I drink myself of newfound pity
Sitting alone in New York City
And I don't know why.

Are we listening
To hymns of offering?
Have we eyes to see
That love is gathering?

All the words that I've been reading
Have now started the act of bleeding Into one.

Into One

So I walk up on high
And I step to the edge
To see my world below.
And I laugh at myself
While the tears roll down.
'Cause it's the world I know.
It's the world I know.

That is me! The blue one with my silouette, standing and looking down on to the water below that is posted right before the song lyrics. :)

Thank you, that's a huge compliment! :) It honestly isn't touched up or altered at all, the lighting was just right so the color looks really amazing. Yay for Jason's new droid phone!
